27 June :: Czech Rep - Denmark 3-0
The Czech Republic stormed over Denmark 3-0 eliminating them from the tournament and advancing to the semis.Everybody's new favorite outsiders for Euro 2004 justified some of the growing belief that they can win their second European Championship with a performance that lasted in total just over a quarter of an hour. A scoreless and tense first half did not set the tone for the deluge of goals that followed, but Koller put the Czechs on their way four minutes into the second period when he rose unchallenged to head Karel Poborský's corner past Thomas Sørensen in the Danish goal. Milan Baros quickly followed with two beautiful goals and the match was over for Denmark.

22 June :: Sweden - Denmark 2-2
Sweden and Denmark finished with a 2-2 draw in their last encounter of Group C of the 2004 Euro championship.This promiscuous result assured the advancement of both nations requiring Italy to beat Bulgaria with more than three goals.The actual match between the two Scandinavian nations was exciting and seemed far from deliberate.Jon Dahl Tomasson had two brilliant goals while Henrik Larsson converted a penalty and Mattias Jonson scored the equalizer for the final 2-2.

18 June :: Bulgaria - Denmark 0-2
Denmark deservedly defeated Bulgaria 2-0 who played one of the worst games ever witnessed at the Euro Championship.Denmark dominated play and mounted wave after wave of attacks mostly through wing play.After a number of misses by Laursen and Gronkjaer, Tomasson finally struck home in the 44th minute from a notebook combination.After the goal, the Bulgarian team did nothing to recover and continued the horror show of not being able to string two passes together.The Danish maintained their raids on the Bulgarian goal but it wasn't until 3 minutes of overtime that Gronkjaer sealed the final 2-0.

14 June :: Denmark - Italy 0-0
Denmark and Italy finished with a scoreless draw in the first match of Group C. Inspired goalkeeping and cautious play kept the scoresheet clean for the entire 90 minutes.Denmark's Thomas Sørensen produced a stunning double save to deny Alessandro Del Piero and Francesco Totti just before half-time.Gianluigi Buffon emulated his opposite number to brilliantly keep out efforts in quick succession from Jon Dahl Tomasson and Dennis Rommedahl in the second half of what was an enthralling encounter in the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques.

The Danish national team

Overview
Denmark has had mild international success since their 1992 European title. Their characteristic style is very forceful and direct. Sweden is viewed as favorite over the Danes, but underestimating them would be dangerous.
