Silly boys
Rooney was at full stretch to play the ball. Eduardo wasn't. ![]() Mandy felt Brian's wrath when she wandered in front of him after they'd announced free beer at the bar..... |

Rooney's intent was not to dive....his intent was to get a penalty through contact. It was clear contact and rooney didn't dive "The road to athletic greatness is not marked by perfection but the ability to constantly overcome adversity and failure." |

Actually now that I watch the clip again it kinda does look like Rooney is going for the ball and stretches and Almunia takes out his right leg causing him to go down. But I'm not too sure.

Alonso recieved a yellow for simulation when he was going down before Gilberto knicked him and Almunia already had the ball, and this was in the box too. I dont see how this is any different to Rooney's case because the ball was virtually already out and Rooney was on one knee before Almunia touched him.
Anyway, that's in the past.. the only thing im sour about is the fact that Rooney has said that he has never dived before [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zm5-zLu8S9U lol...... ] and the fact that this whole discussion was created only because of Eduardo's dive and is titled 'Eduardo the cheat'. Why not make a discussion about Gilardino's dive, Rooney's dives, Gerrard's dives, Torres' dives or heck even Carvalho's dives? (although i know there is a Ronaldo discussion) Why only target Eduardo for his first instance? |

Its clear that Rooney was stretching to reach the ball its just when I first saw it it looked like he was going down already. Now I see that he was stretching for the ball and Almunia took out his other leg.

Watched the Real Madrid game, blatant dive by a Zurich player at minute 1:01-1:04 of this youtube video. Wonder if UEFA will try to punish this players as well? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aw9fZvAQ4kM |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aw9fZvAQ4kM I don't know what was worse Zurich's keeper or Madrid's defence..... And I couldn't tell from the angle if it was a dive.... "The road to athletic greatness is not marked by perfection but the ability to constantly overcome adversity and failure." |

At least Real Madrid won convincingly, 5-2.

But with their high powered offense they will be putting in 3+ goals each game. I wouldn't be too worried until a team is able to stop their attack.

Guys, this topic is no longer about the Eduardo situation. If the topic doesn't resume or whatever, the thread may have to be locked.
