The MLS is at least the second attempt at a professional league. Pele, Best and Beckenbauer all played league football in the US in the '70s. if the mls ever got to the level of the Scottish league in the next 20 years or so it would be a success.

Pele, Best and Beckenbauer all played league football in the US in the '70s. well back when venice and serena were kicking ass we were quite good haha Nick don't you think are MLS teams could beat most of the scottish premiere league teams (take out celtic and rangers) some of those scottish teams are just bad, atleast the MLS has different teams winning the titles and tournaments every year. The only teams that have won the title in the SPL from 1998-present is celtic and rangers, to be honest i wouldn't want MLS to become anything like that |

Thats because the MLS uses a play-off format instead of doing the traditional (whoever has the most points at the end wins) format that top leagues use

thats true, but even if u look at west and east conference brackets before the play-offs there aren't as many points divided as there are in the SPL

quality wise the Scottish league is still pretty far ahead of mls. And yeah the playoff format is retarded whatever idiot thought it up for this should be fired.
