During a game, I don't like to make long runs because if my team loses the ball the man that I was covering will be left unmarked.I was wondering if it is better to stay back an help your defense or to run up and try to score a goal. |
There really is no right or wrong answer to your problem, although it is very common to face the dilemma of when to attack and when not to. The main factor you must take into consideration is how many of your teammates are involved in the attack. If there are already too many of them, your chances of contacting the ball would be much smaller. In contrast, if most of your teammates are staying back or not initiating the attack, you should feel safer about going up because you know someone will (hopefully) pick up your mark.
Never be hesitant after you’ve made your decision. Even if it was wrong, follow through with it as well as you can. It also won’t hurt to you familiarize yourself with soccer tactics. The more you know, the more confident you’ll be on the field. by Expert 19:06:18 Monday 29 March 2004 |
