Germany 2006: 1,000,000 Ticket Requests in 2 Days
Just two days after the Organizing Committee started accepting ticket requests, FIFA has already received over 1 Million applications! Although the tournament won't start until next summer, people are swarming for a chance to get the precious papers. Applications in the first sales period will be accepted until 31 March 2005. It makes no difference whatsoever whether applicants register on the first day or a few days later, as the time of applying has no bearing on the allocation of tickets afterwards.
In the first sales period up to 31 March, FIFA will only be accepting applications. "No-one's missed anything yet!" stressed OC vice-president Wolfgang Niersbach. The 812,000 tickets available in the first phase will be allocated on 15 April 2005 by random ballot. Ticket prices vary between 600,00 Euros for a seat at the Final and 45,00 Euros for a cheap spot at one of the group matches.
