Settling into space
Set up two cones approximately 20 meters (21 yards) apart. Begin by standing at one end, with your back towards the other cone. Bring up and flick the ball over your head. Now simply turn and run into the path of the dropping ball. Don't slow down at the moment of contact, but continue accelerating to the next cone.

Tip: Don't get into the habit of slowing down when you control the ball. At higher levels of the game, the player with the ball is never stationary.

Inside cut
Start out at the first cone by tossing the ball up. Cut or redirect the ball with the inside of your foot, right after it hits the ground. Turn your body in its path and continue dribbling towards the other cone.

Outside cut
The Outside cut, along with the Inside cut are two of the most important control techniques, so make sure you can proficiently apply them with both feet.

Tip: Bring the cones closer together to make the exercise more difficult.

180-degree turn
Toss the ball up and settle by stalling it with the instep of your foot. As you do so, turn 180-degrees and move towards the next cone.

Tip: Be prepared and stay on your toes before controlling the ball.

Cut under body
This move is used when an enemy is coming in or is directly in front of you. As your opponent closes in on you, the Cut under body move will give you an extra step away from him. It's often used by wingers.

Tip: Individual training is all about consistency. What the recreational player can do on 5 out of 10 attempts, the pro is expected to execute every single time. When practicing, do your best to eliminate all mistakes.
