Soccer Tricks > Akka

Akka by Edgar Davids
When done right, this move is actually more complicated than it looks. It has three distinct parts: Davids starts off with the ball caught on his instep. First, he tosses the ball up ever so slightly (it will almost feel as if you are dropping it) and immediately retrieves his foot. Using the toes of the same foot, Davids clips the ball on the outside as it's dropping (this will be the setup). Lastly, he volleys the ball with a semi-circular motion using the outside of the same foot. You'll notice that his setup touch is just a little off, because it doesn't give him enough time to retrieve his leg, before volleying it.
